Whilst Alex was rigging High Hull Pot, we set about looking for High Hull Cave which is located close by. It seemed obvious where it was, but it wasn’t there! After some head scratching, we decided to go back to where we though it was. Have a guess what, it was there! Buried under a skin of earth and turf was the unpleasant looking entrance crawl.
We removed some srt gear and went in feel first as it was slightly awkward. After a couple of metres, you can turn round to be faced with a crawl through a muddy walled tubish passage. This meanders for 90 odd metres with some smaller bits before a slightly larger section to end at a choke. It looked like someone had dug something at the end but I didn’t hang around for too long to check it out.
Seems no one has been down this cave in a fairly long time.
