Me and Bruce have free climbed out of Gavel the way it sounds chris went wasnt too bad to be honest. Hardest part was the climb up and out over the big chock stone.

I spent 4hrs in BPOTW

the section after the first squeeze then pitch was loose but after the next pitch its fine from what i remember. i really dont remember that first squeeze being that tight tbh.

Where would you compare it to now then?

Can’t believe Sharman and Mike didn’t get through! Ive been in it so know how tight it was so has to be easier now its bigger!

So How does the ‘Trick’ differ from before? ive been in it with my feet over the stream and my chest in the tight bit.

no knee pad but there is some manky gloves bit of orange peel etc

it was 15 years ago so most likely yes!

i feel your pain in the thrutch, my chest jammer got stuck and i couldnt move up or down!

Climbing up that hole from the traverse those loose rocks gave way on my first visit, they were fine last time when Dan and Rob came. that wall of loose rock/mud looks amazing while you abseil down next to it!

i stopped at bottom if last pitch as all that crawling did not sound exciting!

As for the duck the crawl to the start of it aint to bad its just the bit were you turn left and pop out at the top of the pitch that was low air space.

i liked crescent, it was fun the only bit i struggled on was the tight tube rift before the 4th pitch coming out. the duck was fun aswell!
