Ahh I was writing one, you beat me to it. Should I reveal all the events?

But anyway thanks for the read.

We explored a side passage at the bottom, however the loose and fragile nature of the rock in this section of the cave eventually led us to turn back.

Me and Dan made it as almost as far as the connection to the Mouse hole (the end of the side passage), but we decided against climbing a wall of mud and stones, though thinking about it, it prob would have been okay.

The normal way on looked about as abysmal as ever however there appeared to be more rocks in it. It’s amazing and scary how one small rock appears to be holding everything up. Having done it before and assuming the flat out crawl below the pitch would likely be sumped I was not keen to go through it for no reason. Me and Dan afterall had bottomed it in the past.

Don also did not mention that Dan had slipped onto his thumb in one of the rifts on the way out. At the time we did not think too much of it as Dan did not make a big deal about it, however Dan has since visited A&E and according to an X-ray he has fractured (chipped) part of his thumb so unfortunately he won’t be caving with us next weekend.

Oh and my pantin snapped on the big pitch, but unfortunately that was not the worst thing to happen that day.

Yeh I hauled to event horizon first, that bit was relatively easy. It was sorting out the other bag and then hauling the whole lot (the top rope being 10.5 mil) that was the tougth part. But 3 bags that must had been hard.

How did you get them all up the ent pitch, there are no suitable hauling points. I used the walk across the field technique.

Top tip I think if you are ever on your own and have to de-rig Titan, rig a z-rig, or take one of the bags with you.

Yeh it was an interesting day. I won’t mention what happened later here. But me and Chris did some hard graft de-rigging Titan, hauling all that rope even with my pulley is not easy. This was after the fun (with me swearing of course) when the rope got tangled around the traverse line. Someone must had abseiled that rope on a fig 8 or something as it was twisted like spaghetti. In the end I had to temporality de-rig the event horizon traverse line to untangle the ropes but I could not undo the mallon so I shouted for a spanner. Chris 80m above me thought I wanted him to come down! Logic prevailed eventually and I realised I can simply untie the traverse line knot, so I did not need the spanner to remove the rope.

I don’t know why sometimes I am not more logical underground. Also on big pitches like that walkie talkies or pitch phones would not go-amiss.

Hehe, I like the report and bloody hell, Chris was very talkative was’nt he?

I don’t understand though why you wanted to go back there with just two of you, surely you remembered how long it took me and you as you say you did not expect it to be rigged.

Maybe we should ask the BPC if they would like us to de-rig it, go in via Bar or something.

Yeh the other 4 are mine. P.s. it seems I filmed most of the trip by mistake and some of it don’t look too bad.
