ParticipantAlex, you beat me to the trip report. You’re far too efficient!
Hopefully one day some good soul will bolt yockenthwaite as some of the bolts are looking knackered.
Almost as knackered as we were after fossil passage! More challenging than I was expecting.rob
ParticipantAye, it’s all true

ParticipantWhat did I say to you Dunc on the way up, re Alex??

ParticipantSurprised you can remember the sun mike!

ParticipantBeyond the right hand bend, you traverse a bit further until the calcite blockage forces you down a bit. Then it’s back to the top of the rift until that squeeze I wrote about. I went through the squeeze but it was tight on me and a little awkward. I was wearing a neofleece however which is a bit thicker and reduces flexibility sligtly. I am the same size I’ve been for about 6 years so it is definitely tight!

ParticipantI sure Dunc and Pete went there about 10 years ago or so. There must be a trip report somewhere.

ParticipantYou’re right, water levels were high on Saturday. I went in Yordas Cave with my 2 kids and the waterfall was in a rage. Some bloke (BPC I think) was descending the middle entrance trying to find his kroll! (??)
Regarding the sump/Portcullis in Dis, there is a small cut out in the roof that you can’t immediately see when you first look in. Also, the Portcullis requires a full submergence even in lower water (or it has on the 4 occasions I’ve done it) so a neoprene hood is useful.
